For giving me a warm safe home for the first nine months

While I stretched your body way out of shape

And all the pain I put you through as you pushed me into the light

The unselfish love you gave me, a demanding, toothless, baldy baby

For sleepless nights, tired eyes, endless washing and continual feeding

For all that you gave up; opportunities for work, play and travel

For saving me from many dangers when I wandered astray

Putting up with tantrums when I couldn’t get my own way

You are a friend, teacher, mentor, nurse and always ever caring

Cook, cleaner, provider, nurturer, your life with me ever sharing

My private taxi driver taking me to endless sporting events

Always encouraging me on even though you were quite bored

For over looking all my naughty ways and leaving them in the past

Releasing me to make mistakes so that I could I learn life’s tests

There’s only one thing left to say, Mum, your simply the best!
